Latest company news about High tensile torque TPE/TPR toy material

The toy industry is a comprehensive industry that integrates materials science, electronic technology, acoustics and optics, mechanical design, and more. The functions and varieties of toys are diverse, but what parents value most is children's safety. Toys causing safety issues for children are not rare cases.

There are many toy safety standards, such as the international standard ISO8124, the American standard ASTM P963, the European standard EN71, and the national standard GB6675. For TPE/TPR, the material itself is environmentally friendly, and there are no issues with toxicity and harmful substance control, but problems often occur in the torsional and tensile strength part of the physical and mechanical tests.

So, how can we improve the torsional and tensile strength of toys made from TPE/TPR materials? We can address this issue in three aspects:

  • First, formula adjustment (main factor)

Select SBS with a wider molecular weight distribution and special grades of SEBS to ensure flowability while also improving torsional and tensile strength.

  • Second, product structure adjustment (secondary factor)

Increase the cross-sectional area at points prone to breakage, enlarge the R-angle, and avoid stress concentration.

  • Third, injection molding parameter adjustment (auxiliary measure)

Appropriately increase the injection molding temperature to avoid the weld line appearing at positions prone to breakage.
